S J Marine specialises in the Servicing of all MaK engines and the supply of spare parts. Our approach is different to the official service stations as we are not tied into a sole partner agreement, therefore we can offer alternatives such as reconditioned or second-hand spares along with genuine parts.
This can be very beneficial to owners operating older ships on limited budgets.
Also on offer is a comprehensive technical back up, as both Simon Houslander and Danny Page are factory trained and have jointly over 35 years of experience with MaK engines. We operate out of a newly refurbished office, warehouse and workshop facility with good links to London airports and the M25 etc.
S J Marine was formed by Simon Houslander ( MaK senior engineer ) 10 years ago, after a 12 year relationship with MaK London. The reason for forming the company was to offer an improved more personal service and an alternative to the increasingly fixed corporate attitude that seems to be prevalent today.
Alongside Simon is, Danny Page, originally Parts & Service manager for MaK London, but more recently Service Manager for Finning MaK. In fact all the staff share the same enthusiasm and are mindful of our customers high service expectations. Between them they have a great deal of MaK experience and knowledge which along with an extensive contacts database is available to help solve your MaK requirements.

We Can Supply All MaK Parts!Apart from our own stock of Service items we can source parts from our partners all over the world.We are not limited by territories so can search for a part and shorten that all important delivery time. Parts recognition can be a common problem and our experience will help eliminate this and avoid expensive delays.
We normally have reconditioned pistons, heads and connecting rods for the 453 and 551/2 engines in stock. Others are being added to the range as the demand grows. Other stock includes gasket sets, valves ,liners and vibration damper spring packs. Our second hand stock changes regularly and is quite varied it includes gear wheels, coolers, rocker gear and fuel equipment.

Our workshop is equipped with many specialist tools, such as Chris marine grinding equipment, which being fully portable, can be used onboard as well. We have a reconditioning partner for specific welding and chrome plating work and can undertake any fuel injection repairs along with exchange fuel pumps for some engine types.
Our MaK tool range is extensive and we have a few adaptations of our own which can speed up certain repairs.
